Us, BAUMSCHINEN TOMI, out of respect for our customers, we permanently present the definitions of the markings internationally used for the equipment’s spare parts, that is OE, OEM and AM.

OE: Original Equipment (Genuine)

It is the original part used by the manufacturer of the construction machines when the machine is out of manufacturing. This part can be manufactured, under contract, by a supplier who specially and exclusively manufactures the part for the model of the respective machine.

OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer

It is the marking given by the manufacturer of the machine’s parts, the part of origin that has been mounted on a construction machine. The manufacturer has the right to produce the same original part, packed in its own packaging and stamped with the manufacturer’s logo. The European Commission calls them „products of origin”, and their manufacturers, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and OES (Original Equipment Supplier).

AM: Aftermarket

It is any part which does not bear the logo of the manufacturer of the construction machines. However, all these parts are acknowledged by international organizations in order to be traded and provide a high level of safety. The companies that manufacture aftermarket parts buy the rights to manufacture these parts. They technically correspond when they are mounted, are identical from the point of view of characteristics and standards with the original ones and have the same level of quality. The only difference is that they are not mounted on the machines in the initial manufacturing process.
